Copy User Access Rights from One Project to Another

Previous TopicNext TopicContents

Users will probably have some of the same access rights, if not all, from one project to the next. Copying their access rights between projects in the same database greatly reduces the data entry effort, enabling you to create the project quickly.

To copy user access rights from one project to another:

  1. Right-click on a project to which you want to copy user access rights and choose Copy User Access to open the Copy User Access Dialog Box.
  2. Click Select Copy From next to the Copy from field to open the Select Project Dialog Box to choose the project from which to copy users' rights. This list shows all users from the selected project.
  3. Select a user and click Add to move the user to the Copy to list. To copy all users, click Add All.

Note: The Copy to list shows the users that are currently in the destination project as well as users that are being copied to the project. To remove a user from the Copy To pane and put it back in the Copy From pane, click the user name, and then click Remove. To remove all users and put them back in the Copy From pane, click Remove.

  4. Click OK to copy the user's access rights to the current project.
