You can restore individual projects in Contract Management. You can restore a project to any database as long as the custom fields in the project group match those in the project you want to restore. In order to restore a project, you must know the project name.
In the From field, select the project (.PRX) file you want to restore. Click Browse to locate the file.
Note: Contract Management uses the current project database.
Click Restore to start the restore process. Click Yes to confirm the restore.
Notes:
Projects backed up in the current version of Contract Management cannot be restored in an older version of Contract Management.
If the project you are restoring already exists in the database, Contract Management asks you to confirm that you want to overwrite the existing project. All information in the existing project will be lost and replaced with the restored project’s information.
There cannot be any users connected to this database through Contract Management.
When restoring a project that was backed up from a database with custom fields or cost code definitions, any custom fields or cost code definitions in the target database that have the same name as those backed up must have the same datatype and length as the backup. Custom fields or cost code definitions in the backup that are not in the target database will automatically be added.
Users cannot log in to Contract Management until the restore process is complete.
Contract Management administrators have backup and restore rights. All other users have to be designated as Can Back Up Projects and Can Restore Projects. Even if they created the project or are the project administrator, they do not automatically get these rights.
