From the Template page of the Add Template dialog box, you can either copy data from an existing template, from another project, or start with a blank template.
Choose Use Template if you want to use another project template as the basis for this template. Select the template to use from the Template drop-down list. The list contains standard and custom templates. (This choice is not available if there are no templates.)
Choose Copy Information From Another Project if you want to use the data from an existing project as the basis for the new template. Select the project to use from the Project drop-down list.
Choose Start With a Blank Project if you want to create a template with all new information.
Notes:
Settings copied from a template or project become defaults for the remainder of the setup.
If you choose a project or a template, the users and their security settings are copied to the Add Users section.
If you choose a project or a template, the new project will copy contacts from the database or project directory based on which directory the project or template uses.
If you choose a project, only active contacts/companies are copied to the new project. Inactive companies are not.
If you choose a template, both active and inactive contacts/companies are copied to the new project.
How to access this dialog box:
From the Project View, right-click on the Templates folder and select New Template.
