Options (for spelling checker) Dialog Box


Use this dialog box to configure the spell checker options.

Ignore Capitalized Words

Select to ignore words starting with capital letters.

Ignore Words in UPPERCASE

Select to ignore words in all uppercase.

Ignore Words with Numbers

Select to ignore words containing numbers.

Ignore Words with MixEd CAse

Select to ignore words with mixed upper and lower case.

Ignore Internet Addresses

Select to ignore Internet addresses.

Ignore Repeated Words

Select to ignore words repeated next to each other.

Case Sensitive

Select to make the spell checker differentiate between upper and lower case.

Suggest Split Words

Select to suggest two separate words as a replacement for a misspelling containing two joined words. For example, is the would be suggested as a replacement for isthe.

Custom Dictionary

Use the Custom Dictionary to add new words to the dictionary. This prevents them from appearing in the spell checker as misspelled. Type the word in the Word field, then click Add. Click OK when finished. The list of words in your Custom Dictionary is displayed in the Contents column.

How to access this dialog box:

  1. From a document window in Edit mode, run the spelling checker by clicking Spelling , or by choosing Spelling from the Select an action drop-down list. If the spell checker encounters a word that it does not recognize, the Spelling Dialog Box displays.
  2. In the Spelling Dialog Box, click Options and then mark the appropriate options.
