Reassign Linked Contacts

When a user account is linked to a contact, you cannot delete that login user account until you reassign the contacts linked to that account to another user account. This is done in the Contract Management Administration Application.

After the contact is linked with a new user account, go back to the Contract Management Administration Application and delete the login user account. The user account will not automatically be deleted by the reassign linked contacts.

To reassign linked contacts:

  1. Log on to the Contract Management Administration Application, and click User Accounts.
  2. Click Delete to the right of the user account that you want to delete.

    Note: You cannot delete or reassign an administrator.

  3. Click Yes to confirm the delete.
  4. If the following message displays, click Reassign:

    This account cannot be deleted because there are contacts associated with this account. Would you like to reassign these contacts to another account?

  5. In the User to reassign field, select the new user account to link to the contacts, and click Reassign.
  6. When the All the listed contacts will be reassigned to the user account <user account name>. message displays, click OK.
  7. When the Process complete dialog box displays, click OK.
  8. Now, use the Contract Management Administration Application to delete the user account.
